"Blossoms at our Feet"

DAY FIFTY-NINE OF THE CORONAVIRUS QUARANTINE FOR US AT STACK 'EM HIGH PANCAKES AND SO FORTH
Well friends, I have spent the entire day homeschooling, working to re-open our rental house, two meetings to re-open our church and I am left with no plan for dinner and an empty blog-space. I just ran rather frantically out to the barn to get some fresh bedding for Lulu and Sunny, our resident chicks, and noticed these tiny blooms near the water's edge. They only bloom in the evening, and they were exactly what I needed to have cross my path. Albert Schweitzer once wrote, "In the hopes of reaching the moon, men fail to see the flowers that blossom at their feet." As we move from isolation into the days of our belated spring awakening, we should remember the lessons of the last weeks and months. It would be easy to jump with both feet back into our busy schedules and not look back, but that little miracle creeping through the rock gave me pause and I am deeply grateful.
